Designing an ADU: The Process at SNBM Design Studio

1. Schedule a free consultation

The first step is to contact us and schedule a free consultation. During this meeting, we will discuss your needs and desires for your ADU. We will also answer any questions you may have about the design process.

2. ADU feasibility study

After the initial consultation, we will conduct a feasibility study to determine if an ADU is right for your property. This study will take into account the size and layout of your property, as well as any zoning regulations that may apply.

3. ADU design

Once we have determined that an ADU is feasible for your property, we will begin the design process. We will work with you to create a custom ADU that meets all of your needs and preferences.

4. Plan check submittal

Once the design is complete, we will submit the plans to the building department for plan check, we will work with you to obtain the necessary permits and answer any plan check comments during the plan check process.

5. ADU construction

Once the design is complete, General Contractor will pull the permits and start the construction. During this process we will answer the questions the General contractor might have.

6. ADU completion

After construction is complete, we will perform a final walk-through with you to ensure that everything is to your satisfaction.
